We have an outstanding career opportunity for a successful Global Antivirus/Spam Administrator located in our Upper Saddle River, New Jersey offices.
Position Summary:
This position offers the ability to work with our dynamic Information Technology group to manage and administer the antivirus policies for the company. This is an excellent opportunity for a success driven Antivirus Administrator to join a fast paced, rapidly growing organization. This position reports to the Associate Director of Infrastructure and will have global responsibility.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform engineering, administrative and operational functions on Anti-virus, spam technologies.
- Global Symantec antivirus engineering and administrative roles as they pertain to the overall business goals of the company and for maintaining world-class service levels and systems availability.
- Lead a team that manages a global antivirus infrastructure.
- Recommend and implement policies and software to protect Barr's static and mobile IT resources against malicious code
- Proactively identify gaps in current environment and propose solutions.
- Managed an antivirus infrastructure spanning multiple locations with 500+ mobile users
- Maintains global Anti-virus, spam environment.
- Carry out Operating System and software upgrades as required.
- Manage multiple tasks as well as service requests and incident resolution.
- Provide on-site and off-site support.
- Produce and maintain documentation of all procedures
Position Requirements include:
- BS degree in a technical discipline with 3+ years of antivirus, spam administrator experience or at 6+ years of antivirus, spam administrator experience.
- Experience in a regulatory compliance environment preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of major application server platforms - MS SQL, Oracle, Exchange, Apache, IIS, etc. and the types of malicious code they are vulnerable to
- Symantec Antivirus, Ironport, and/or Sygate Protection Agent experience a plus
- A deep understanding of Microsoft and Linux based operating systems and how they can be compromised by malicious software
- Proven ability to communicate with senior management in a professional and articulate manner.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior server administrators and peers
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
