Things You'll Need:

• Windows Vista

Install Norton Anti Virus on Windows Vista from Disc

Step 1:
Place the Norton Anti Virus disc in your optical drive (CD or DVD should work depending on the version of Norton Anti Virus you buy).

Step 2:
Wait for the autorun feature to load the splash (startup) screen. If you have autorun disabled then click through the Start menu to the "My Computer" button, right-click on the optical drive containing the Norton disc, then click "Explore." From here simply double click the "Setup" executable file.

Step 3:
Have your serial key available. Norton Anti-Virus requires users to enter this key during installation to verify that you have a legitimate copy of the software. When prompted, enter it into the setup window.

Step 4:
Install Norton Anti Virus to a location on your drive that you can easily remember. By default Norton Anti Virus installs to the "C:\Symantec\Norton\Antivirus\" directory, but you can place it wherever it is most convenient for you to remember.

Step 5:
Click through the on screen prompts until the program installs. Installation may take several minutes, as Norton Anti Virus needs to install both program files and registry entries.

Step 6:
Restart your computer once prompted to do so. Following a successful installation, Norton Anti Virus will ask you to restart in order to enable its features on your PC. Once you have restarted Norton Anti Virus will be armed and ready to protect your computer.
