The average user will find ViRobot Expert's navigation fairly easy to use. You simply click on the tab section at the top of the program to navigate from one area to the next. This software passed the West Coast Labs Level 1 and 2 in 2007. but was not tested or did not pass the ICSA or VB100% in 2007.
Summary:
The average user that wants to install and forget about the antivirus software should look into the Gold, Silver or Bronze products. This program does have many nice scanning capabilities-you can scan email attachments in real-time while they are downloading from the POP3 server. Viruses will never make it to your inbox. ViRobot has had several problems concerning effectiveness. It consistently fails VB 100% tests including the last test in June 2005. The software didn't take the 2005 ICSA test. The program did pass level 1 & 2 Checkmark from West Coast Labs. You can choose between manual and automatic updates to keep the software up to date. As far as system resources, this program is not a hog and used about the same amount as the other antivirus products. The scan time was a little below average; it took 45 minutes to scan an 80 GB hard drive where the average was about 30 minutes. Overall there are better products for the same price.
